Temple Theaters presents
In 1950, seventeen year-old Ernestine’s world is turned upside down when her widowed father, Godfrey, moves her and her younger sister to Brooklyn in search of a better life. Lily, the girls’ worldly communist aunt, is at odds with Godfrey and his new wife Gerte. Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, one of the strongest voices in American theater, creates a thoughtful, funny and beautiful memory play.
“In this beautifully written coming-of-age tale, Lynn Nottage serves up a feast for the ears, eyes and soul” - Daily Herald
