Once again, we see Owls dotting the great Broadway stages in style! This Spring, we heard about six (!!) Temple Alums treading the boards at theaters on the famed NYC thoroughfare and we are so proud of each of them and honored to call them our alumni! (and there are probably more that we don't know about!)
It's no suprise to have Temple alums star on Broadway (check out this article from 2020 - Five Owls on Broadway) But we love to feature them when the come in bunches like this!
While the world would go on to recognize Temple Alum Bob Saget (RFT '78) as a comedian and for his roles on TV in shows like "FULL HOUSE", "AMERICA'S FUNNIEST HOME VIDEOS" and "HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER", the Philadelphia-born Saget launched his career in TV and Film with an award-winning documentary he made while still a student in Temple's Radio, Television and Film program (as it was then known).
Congratulations to MFA Grad Alicia Woods (MFA '20), one of three national filmmakers selected for the prestigious Filmmaker First Fund! This is a huge win and we are so proud of her. The award comes with a $50k stipend, a year-long residency in the FF studio, mentorship and connections with professionals and resources.
At Temple, Woods was awarded a Future Faculty Fellowship and the Ben and Minnie Lazaroff Award for screenwriting (2019). Kudos to her!
