2023 TFMA Alumni Grant Awardees

Since 2020, the Alumni Association of Temple University's School of Theater, Film, and Media Arts has been awarding grants to help fund alumni projects with the understanding that the body of work coming out of TFMA is made more vibrant by diverse voices.

In support of a more honest, equitable, and inclusive storytelling landscape, the 2023 TFMA Alumni Project Grant is going toward projects that amplify the voices and stories of artists of color and artists in the LGBTQ+ community.

Alumni Profile: Nick Brown ('18)

This past weekend, we were able to catch up with 2018 Musical Theater Alum Nick Brown ('18) who is currently rocking the National Tour of the sensational musical Finding Neverland and starring as Elliot.

Between call times, Nick was gracious enough to answer a few deep questions about his life post graduation and what advice and info he has for current students.

Phila Inquirer Highlights Audition Prep Class

Actors go on auditions all the time, but they rarely receive the critical but nurturing feedback that they hear in Jennie Eisenhower's "Musical Theater: Dress Rehearsal" class.

Eisenhower brings in casting directors and other professionals from around the city throughout the semester. Her students receive real-world audition experiences in the classroom along with valuable observations and assessments to help them prepare for life after college.

Temple Theaters Welcomes Main Street Musicals

MainStreet Musicals Inc. will be collaborating with Temple Theaters in presenting three staged readings in Randall Theater from January 10-11.  With both professional actors and student performers, these readings include Merton of the Movies, directed by Temple Theaters' Artistic Director Douglas C. Wager; Pride and Prejudice, directed by Professor Peter Reynolds; and Under Fire, directed by Nick Anselmo of Drexel University.

Identifying as an introverted child, she found solace in the arts. From singing to dancing to even being a young and creative playwright, Assistant Professor Maggie Anderson’s past quest for artistic freedom soon became her life’s work.
