Alumni David Zhou ('17) and Sung Rae Cho ('05) had films presented at Cannes Film Festival. Zhou's THE CONDO and Cho's USAGI both screened at the Cannes Short Film Corner. The films are the first for both filmmakers.
Recent grad Zhou's THE CONDO is a comedy about best friends and roommates, Steven and Rahul, who open their condo into an underground casino in order to raise money to pay off a debt owed to the Chinese gambling syndicate.
Sun Rae Cho has worked on over 50 feature films and television series as a camera technician eventually moved his way up to director of photography. Some of his credits include “The Transfiguration” (Un Certain Regard, 2016 Cannes Film Festival), “Graceland”(2012 TriBeCa Film Festival), and “The Americans” (FX Original Series). USAGI, a drama about two strangers in Japan, premiered at Cannes.
