Alumnus Tom Quinn Selected for Biennale College Cinema

Tom Quinn, a graduate of the Department of Film and Media Arts at Temple University, is one of twelve filmmakers whose projects were selected in the first phase of 2015/16 Biennale College – Cinema.

Quinn’s new feature film, Colewell, was selcted for the fourth edition of Biennale College - Cinema, an event presented in collaboration with TorinoFilmLab and IFP New York. The past editions had more than 900 films, all micro-budget audiovisual works, by emerging film directors and producers from arond the world. Three of 2015/16 projects will be receive funds for development; the finished films will be presented at the 2016 Venice Film Festival. 

Last month, Tom Quinn was appointed  Interim Program Director of Film & Video at Drexel University. Quinn is an award-winning writer/director; he was named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film by Filmmaker Magazine and one of the Ten Young Writer-Directors to Watch by Moviemaker. Professor Quinn is a Gotham and Independent Spirit Award nominee for his film The New Year Parade, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Slamdance Film Festival and screened at more than 40 festivals and venues internationally. Quiin received his MFA in Film in 2011. He earned a BA from LaSalle University and was an adjunct professor of film at the University of the Arts.
