More in About:
Qiong “June” Wang’s (MFA ‘22) debut feature-length documentary All About My Sisters is receiving incredible attention this year. Filmed over seven years with her family in China, All About My Sisters follows Wang’s younger sister, who survived an abortion due to China’s one-child policy and other complex issues, and was later adopted by her uncle.
The film made its North American premiere at the 2021 New York Film Festival where the festival described it as “astonishing” and Wang as a “major new voice in nonfiction cinema.” Hyperallergic described it as one of the “don’t miss” films of the festival. Now, the film has been featured international stage at International Film Festival Rotterdam 2021 and The London Film Festival 2021, just to name a few.
This week, the film also premiered locally at the Philadelphia Film Festival!
In between festivals, we had the chance to sit down with Wang to talk more about her film and process. Check out this short version of the interview above -- for a link to the full interview CLICK HERE
We are so proud of June and look forward to more of her wonderful successes!
