The School of Theater, Film and Media Arts announces new graduate programs in media arts and musical theater. These innovative programs offer exciting opportunities for students and professionals to learn career-ready skills in artistry and applied technology.
The innovative one-year, 30-credit master’s program prepares students for professions in the creative design industries and emergent cinematic art forms. Interdisciplinary career applications include interactive cinema, projection design, digital animation, game design, media installation and user experience design for web. The comprehensive, cutting-edge program educates students in the exciting, evolving field of media arts.
This new 30-credit hour, one-year master of arts degree in Musical Theater Studies prepares candidates for commercial, nonprofit or educational positions in the musical theater industry. The program is tailored for graduate students to continue their education and practice in the disciplines of acting, music and dance/movement to prepare them for careers in education, performance, production or direction. The program scope includes an understanding of the aesthetics of the form and graduate level practical experiences in musical theater performance, production and administration.
The 60-credit, three-year program is the first in the nation to collectively train, mentor and develop new composers, lyricists, book writers, directors and choreographers together as a cohort group in a comprehensive collaborative program. (Program begins Fall 2017)
