David Ingram is an Associate Professor of Theater and Head of the Theater Studies.  He teaches a number of undergraduate classes, including Acting II, Acting IV, the Art of Acting (GenEd), Introduction to the Theater Process and World of the Play.  At the graduate level, he teaches Michael Chekhov Technique and Teaching in Higher Education.  In partnership with Philadelphia Young Playwrights (PYP), David is Producer of the Theater Department’s annual New Voices festival, a series of workshop productions of prize-winning plays written by area high school and middle school students.   The 2014 Festival marked the 26th year of this collaboration.  He also runs the Saturday reading series for PYP. 

He is a Faculty Fellow of Temple’s Teaching and Learning Center, chairs the University’s Lectures and Forums Committee and also serves on Temple’s Writing Intensive Course Committee.  In 2014, he received Temple’s Outstanding Faculty Service Award for the Division of Theater, Film and Media Arts. David is a long-time member of the People’s Light and Theatre Company in Malvern, PA, where he has both acted in and directed a number of productions.  Additionally, he has appeared with 1812 Productions, the Arden Theater, the Wilma Theater, Interact, the Lantern Theater, Act II Playhouse and PlayPenn.
