Michael Friel has taught at Temple since earning his MFA in Playwriting there in 1999. As an actor, he originated the role of The Stagehand in Terrence McNally's Master Class, appearing on Broadway with Zoe Caldwell and Patti LuPone. At Temple, he has performed in Translations, Damn Yankees, and Buried Child. As a playwright, his Lamoure, ND 58458 won two national playwriting competitions. Other of his works including The Children of Fatima, Wind and Love/Hate/ Friendship/Marriage have been produced locally and around the country.
