More in About:
The LA program exposes students to a balance of academic, professional, and residential experiences. Building a network, forging new relationships, and being part of a Temple community offers a foundation for continued growth. In addition to their courses and internships, students plan excursions and attend events to enhance their involvement. Students are housed in Toluca Hills at the Avalon Bay Apartments (formally the Oakwoods). Each two-bedroom apartment houses four students, comes fully furnished, and includes internet and cable TV. The complex is gated with 24-hour security, and features amenities including an on-site convenience store, dry cleaning, two state-of-the-art fitness centers, basketball courts, swimming pools, spas, and steam rooms. The apartments are within two miles of Universal, Warner Brothers, and Dreamworks, and close to many trendy restaurants and boutique shopping centers. A full description is available for download here. You are free to choose your own roommates. LA Away expands upon the academic and internship experience by scheduling events and field trips including: Students frequently organize group trips, adventures, and excursions. Whether it's climbing to the Hollywood sign, hiking to Sweitzer falls, checking out Griffith Park, or camping in Malibu, exploring the area in and around Los Angeles is an important part of the study away experience.
