All Eyez on Alumnus Benny Boom

Benny Douglas, professionally known as Benny Boom, will be visiting Temple University for a Q&A session as well as a screening of the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me on February 21, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Temple Performing Arts Center.

Boom was born and raised in Philadelphia and went on to study film at Temple University. After graduating, Boom entered the film industry and directed his first music video in 2000. He has worked with several artists including Nicki Minaj, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, Lil Wayne, and Keyshia Cole. Boom has been recognized for his work in the industry and has received the BET Award for Video Director of the Year in 2009 and 2013.

Though Boom has done numerous music videos, he also has experience in other genres. In his career, he has directed commercials for brands such as Jeep, Honda, Sears, and Gatorade as well as films. Boom began directing movies in 2009 with Next Day Air and went on the direct S.W.A.T: Firefight and All Eyez On Me. In 2013 he started working in the television industry with an episode of 90210. He later worked on shows such as Knock Out, Empire, The Quad, and NCIS: Los Angeles.

In addition to directing, Benny Boom is the founder and principal of the content production company Groundwurk Studios based in Los Angeles, California.

After the film screening, Boom will engage in a Q&A session discussing his experience in the industry and join guests for a short reception in the lobby.
