Peter Schmitz has been teaching theater history and dramaturgy at Temple University since 2018. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, he has a BA in History from Yale College, and an MFA in Acting from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. As an actor, he has performed in New York (both on and off Broadway) as well as with many regional theaters -- including the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis and the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. He has worked as a dialect coach for many Philadelphia theater companies and university theater programs. His podcast on local theater history is now entering its fourth season - it shares a title with his new book, "Adventures in Theater History: Philadelphia."
