Marcus Giamatti has been a working professional actor for over thirty years. He is best known for the role of
Peter Gray on the long running CBS Drama, Judging Amy. Marcus has appeared in over 25 films, 100 guest star roles, and dozens of recurring and series regular roles on television. Marcus’ extensive theater credits include work on Broadway, Lincoln Center, Off-Broadway and regionally around the country from Seattle to Hartford. Marcus founded his own acting studio in Los Angeles where he was the Master Teacher. He taught acting, directing and production at the University of California Santa Barbara, in the Theater /Dance, and Film Departments. Marcus served as the Director of Education at The Ensemble Theater Company in Santa Barbara where he developed original out-reach programing, including the ETC Young Playwright’s Festival, Adopt-a-School, and The Young Actor’s Conservatory. Marcus is an accomplished professional, session bass guitarist, with a degree in Jazz Bass from the Stinnett School Of Music. He is a freelance author, having contributed to several books on baseball, and is a regular feature columnist for MLB.com, ESPN.com and MLB Insider’s Club
Magazine. He holds a BA in Ethnomusicology from Bowdoin College, and is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
