Senior to star as peacemaker Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet

Julia Hopkins will play the role of Benvolio, which is usually played by a male, in this semester’s production of Romeo and Juliet; she was casted in part due due to her advance stage combat skills. The senior theater major began practicing martial arts in high school with Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. She is now a certified actor combatant and the best stage fighter at Temple.
Benny Douglas, professionally known as Benny Boom, will be visiting Temple University for a Q&A session as well as a screening of the Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me on February 21, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the Temple Performing Arts Center.
The Department of Film and Media Arts hosts its third annual Digital Filmmaking Workshop July 10 - 21 on campus. Open to all high students (no filmmaking experience needed), the program centers on the creative and technical fundamentals of screenwriting, cinematography, on-screen performance and directing, editing and sound for digital short storytelling.

Junior gets chance at dream role in Temple Theaters' upcoming production of Hairspray

Junior theater major Salvatore Mirando made his theater debut in eighth grade, as the iconic Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls with the classic Broadway hit, “Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat.”
It was then that Mirando discovered his talent for comedic roles, and inspired him to cultivate those characters during his time at Temple.
